As Kyro Kobayashi however he had limited success only capturing low level titles. Circa 1991 however he ventured to Mexico to compete in Lucha Libre, he began wearing a Mask and calling himself Thunder Kobayashi. Circa 1993 he had a successful tour in the United States winning the AWF TV Title and US-Title.
In 1994 he returned to Japan's JWA with increased skills, he quickly became well liked. From 1995-98 he won top heavyweight titles and main evented around the Puro scene. By 99 some fans felt his gimmick dull and he lost popularity, soon after he injured himself and took a year off.
In 2001 He returned much to the fans liking but quickly turned heel, he again would capture top teir titles and had feuds with all the top faces at the time. JWA however began moving in a new direction focusing on a new ill fated MMA mimic style. Thunder a full blooded wrestler left the company, In 2005 he signed with AJCW and began putting over the younger talent, but the crowd was not pleased. This changed when Thunder was set to face Bret Masters and Shuji Uno in AJCW's first ever PPV. Shuji bailed on the company and was forced by a court order to return for one last match. There Thunder soundly defeated him and Masters becoming a Triple Crown Champ holding 3 belts at once.
Thunder continues to headline AJCW and has had feud with nearly every main star. His best known work comes against his rival Zodiac the Icon, He has also been in a long feud with his Son-in-Law Kenta Kojima, the two traded victories over 07-09. ============================= Takeshi Akino DOB:12/12/1982 Son of Kodo Akino ,Takeshi had little choice in his career path. Despite his abnormal size for his age he took Judo in high school rather than sumo. At age 16 he began officially training under his fathers dojo to become a pro wrestler. He started low as one could be in the Japanese wrestling world a towel boy. Forever in his fathers shadow his young lion tenure was ill fated and the crowd refused to accept him as legit.
Now 19 and struggling to break into the wrestling world he dawned a mask and traveled the Japan indy scene as Great Smasher Yashin. There he found limited success but success non the less, As he grew he became stronger and more skilled.
By age 23 he secured a spot on the JWA Roster as Son-Takeshi, there he captured the Tag Titles with his father Kodo. Soon his father left JWA but Takeshi did not follow, a costly mistake as JWA took out it's frustrations on him burying him on the undercard. Finally free of JWA he again dawned the Yashin Mask and toured the USA.
There he wrestled in the indy scene gaining more knowledge and skill, finally securing a Roster spot in the AWO. There he found some success but because of his look and nationality he was kept to the mid card despite his skill. Finally feeling upto stepping from his fathers shadow Takeshi signed with AJCW. there he started in the lower card and worked his way up.
When he turned 26 in 2008 he turned heel and attacked his father after a tag match. the crowd erupted in boo's. Takeshi grinned and declared he would defeat his father and overtake him. This led to a epic match in Yokohama that Kodo won. Takeshi lashed out and sided with his fathers longtime enemy Kodoh Takayama. Now with a new mentor Takeshi showed a fire not seen before. He demolished his foes and climbed the ranks. Come 2009 he had another clash with his father, this time he defeated him, but the very minute after he turned on Kodoh Takayama.
He has gained popularity turning less heel and more tweener, now one of the top stars in AJCW, at the close of 2009 he won the Ace 1 Climax, outlasting 32 other men defeating Cruz De Diablo last. Takeshi has defeated Kenta Kojima on 3 separate instances. He made it to the final 4 of the IWW World Tournament before falling to Justin Winter who went on to win the title. Takeshi is currently ranked 3rd in the IWW as of Feb. 2010.
UPDATE Takeshi went on to reign as AJCW Champion for over 8 Months, eventually holding both the AJCW Double Title and IWW World Title at the same time. He would go on to have a monster year as the tank of IWW. Takeshi even went on to win a epic 128 Man tournament dubbed "Best of the Best" in late 2010.
Although he eventually dropped both the AJCW Double Title, and the IWW World Title, in march 2011 he captured the IWW Tag Team Titles with his longtime rival Kenta Kojima
Kenta Kojima 4/18/1978 Kentaro Suzuki was born in Kobe Japan to parents Hiro and Naomi. Unlike most he got a late start in the wrestling world first attending collage to study business. In early 1999 however he met his now wife Yumi Kobayashi daughter to the Legendary Kyro"Thunder"Kobayashi. He had always been a athlete and admired pro-wrestling so soon gave it a shot. He attended Kodo Akino's Dojo and was trained under Thunder and Zodiac. He excelled and despite a late start be Japanese standards he quickly graduated and entered a young lion league.
After a successful rookie year he signed with Rising Sun Puroresu a small promotion based in Yokohama. There he again excelled and made a name for himself, soon he had a short run in JWA changing his name to Kenta Kojima to reflect and honor his grandfather. By 2001 he married Yumi and graduated collage, after a short stint in the American Indies where he adopted his now famous Lariet Kenta returned to JWA and won the JWA-Global Tag Titles with Saitou. As his fame and skill reached it's JWA peak he had several close battles for the JWA Heavyweight Title. Like others however upon JWA's ill fated MMA mimic style grew unhappy and soon departed the company.
in 2005 he jumped ship to AJCW along with his father-in-Law and many of his friends. Soon he found himself headlining events across Japan, it was at this time showed signs of a heel turn. Finally he turned on his mentor and Father-in-Law Thunder. The two had a epic feud with many classic matches, it's peak for Kojima was when he defeated Thunder for the AJCW Double Title. Kojima would reign for a solid year before dropping the belt back to Thunder. Soon after he fell to Takeshi Akino in the 2009 Ace 1 Climax, and placed 2nd in the IWW World Tournament. Having lost a IWW Ranking match to Takeshi he is now ranked 4th in the IWW as of Feb,2010.
He recently started a heel Stable dubbed Gun X and vows to not let AJCW grow weak and corrupt as JWA once was. He recruited Hiro Hage, Setting Sun and RHINE to help him accomplish this. Kenta Kojima has everything needed to become a champion again, only time will tell when.
UPDATE Kenta went on to become the IWW World Champion, but lost the title a month later to his bitter rival Takeshi Akino. He would gain revenge however and defeat Akino for the AJCW Double Title later on. He soon however fell to Hiro Yokoyama, losing his Title.
As of March 2011 however, he teamed with his rival Takeshi and captured the IWW World Tag Titles from the Banner Brothers of the BWA.
Kodo Akino 06/23/1965 Kodo Akino was born Hiromichi Akino in 1965 Tokyo to middle class parents Hitoshi & Miki. Kodo acheived high grades throughout his school years but barley passed high school, and to this day has never attended a college. Kodo excelled at Judo but aside from all this At the age of 17 he and his current girlfriend who would later become his wife did the unthinkable in Japan, She was with child which forced the two to marry sooner than expected. Disgraced Kodo took a job at a fish processing plant, but never giving in he made sure his wife and son where taken care of.
For Kodo A escape from the pressure of real life was always the great sport of professional wrestling. He often attended what shows he could afford, always forcing his wife and sometimes young son Takeshi with him. He loved wrestling and desired to be a star, to provide for his family the best he could. He soon enrolled into the JWA Dojo and trained while still holding a steady job. It was a rough year and the strain could be noticed. However Kodo soon graduated and became a young Lion.
After a short tenure in JWA as a regular, he signed with IWF Japan. By this time he could quit his day job as wrestling paid all his bills. His wife and Son now secure he strived for more. He toured all the IWF regions; Puerto Rico. Southern and Eastern USA, and even tours in Mexico. It was in IWF Japan he scored his first Title, he became IWF JPN Tag Champions alongside Kodoh Takayama in 84, and later IWF World Tag Champions again with Takayama in 85.
In 1985 he signed with AWF and became a hated forieign heel the fans loved to boo. He captured the TV Title a astonishing 4 times from 1986-88. However come 1988 he left for the new Japanese promotion UWW. There he tagged with Saitou and won the UWW Tag Titles twice. He remained in UWW till it's closing in 1992. From 92-94 he went freelance where he had his first run ins with Thunder Kobayashi and Terry Doogan. Also in 1990 he had his second child with his wife, Noami Akino who also became a pro wrestling.

In 1996 he had major Success winning the JWA Iron Cup and later the JWA Heavyweight Title. Having reached the peak of JWA it was bittersweet as he was injuured with a broken leg and sidelined for 2 years.
In 1999 He returned to a huge ovation and had success at first but it was clear JWA was heading in another direction. Kodo was left in tag matches and never used in a major way. He remained a big name in JWA and puro, but circa 2003 following the death of his wife he had enough of the "new" JWA. He left on very bitter terms and sat out to start his own promotion, vowing to accomplish his and wifes dream of starting there own business. It was here in 2004 he founded AJCW, over the next few years he drew much JWA talent and younger wrestlers to AJCW.
Kodo whould go on to become the the first ever AJCW Heavyweight Champion winning a 8-man tournament and defeating Thunder Kobayashi in the finals. He would go to be the main attraction in AJCW until Thunder took that spot. Sliding from the limelight he fell into a vicious feud with his Son Takeshi and his old arch rival Kodoh Takayama.
Now with his son as champion, and things back to good terms in the Akino Clan, Kodo finds himself still a active wrestler, aswell as running all the ins and outs of AJCW. Kodo remains a legend of the ring, and it is doubtful he is done just yet.
