Official IWW statements below ---------------------------------------------- Controversy is nothing new to a IWW Title, we needed look back any further than the double pin finish of the Deathmatch Tag Titles a few months back to see that.
However controversy has struck again but this time with the 6-Man Tag Titles. The reigning champions (Sheik Raijh, Ahriman & Brett Rollings) where defeated when the Northern Alliance (The Nord, Alexi Barudakov & Alexander Draego) gained the upper hand and won the titles by way or choke out.
The Nord had gotten the better of Rollings and proceeded to apply a signature choke move. Choking itself isn't illegal in the IWW but winning a title match with it is unclear.
While sleeper holds of various designs are permitted Nord's blatant choke has left some foggy about the IWW rules.
Truth be told the IWW had no such rules in place, the ref decreed Rollings unfit to go on and awarded the match to the Northern Alliance. In the refs defense titles do change hand on KO in the IWW and Rollings was incapacitated.
So it is the official IWW ruling that the Title change stands and the new 6-Man World Champions are indeed the Northern Alliance.
However the IWW has also announced a rematch to take place at the Seasons Beatings TV Event with the winner going on to face the crowned #1 Contenders.

World Womens Tag Titles coming to the IWW
The IWW doesn't intend for it's womens division to fade away, it is thus that reason that the IWW has added a 2nd womens title to the IWW fold.
The titles first champions will be crowned at the end of an upcoming tournament not yet set.
