*I figured to keep things from the results archive, such as promoting upcoming cards and also continuing with the "Matches of the Show" for the assorted shows, I would create a new thread.*
MATCHES OF THE SHOW
*These are the matches that signify the best of the card for the given show.*
November 7th, 2009: Tony Byron vs. Mystery Mask. A great back and forth match that ended with a very heelish finish for Byron
November 8th, 2009: Rock Island Renegades vs. The Blind Dead. A fast-paced tag match that saw all four men in the ring at the end before Carlson got the win.
November 12th, 2009: Tyrone Dukes vs. Justin Schultz. Suplexes and submissions were the name of this match, for a good five minutes of the end of the match they were hitting suplexes and hoping for victory.
November 14th, 2009: Cruz de Diablo vs. Terry Tanner. Tanner was somewhat of a surprising finalist and nearly had this thing won. He kicked out of a "Devil's Nightmare" to come back for more, but a second Devil's Nightmare, this one from the top rope, ended it. Cruz de Diablo is the first champ, but Tanner is not only the person believed to be #1 contender but rivals Cruz de Diablo as "Most Popular" in the fed.
November 15th, 2009: Eric Constantine vs. Tyrone Dukes. A good back and forth match that ended with a CRITICAL finisher by Constantine to get the win.
November 19th, 2009: Battle Royal. A match that didn't go anywhere near what I expected. After the first few quick elims (especially Tanner), I figured this would be over in a few minutes. After elimination #4 though they went eight minutes of awesome action before the next guy out. Also, the fact that a lower card guy pulls off the upset kind of made for an interesting storyline.
November 21st, 2009: Suicide Machines vs. Rock Island Renegades. The first round tag match between these two was high impact all the way until the Machines pulled it out. I have hopes for these two teams to have a Bulldogs/Hart Foundation style feud for the most part, and they didn't disappoint.
November 22nd, 2009 - Day Show: Terry Tanner, Kyle Skye, & Ricky Stevens Jr. vs. Charlie Potter, Eric Constantine, & Justin Schultz. A good six man match that seemed to gel perfectly. This also set up planned showdowns between Skye and Constantine who had a great exchange of high risk maneuvers.
November 22nd, 2009 - Night Show: Mystery Mask vs. Mike Hooke. A surprising pick, but this was really back and forth excitement for a shorter match. Mask kicked out of the "Three on a Meathook" at 2.9 which caused a quick mark out moment, and he then proceeded to block another attempt and hit the "Mysterious Ending" to win the match.
November 28th, 2009: Kyle Skye versus Eric Constantine. Two young, high impact wrestlers put on a great high-flying match up. Constantine came close to pulling the match off, but a surprise high risk manuever by Skye closed the deal. Because it was so back and forth and high impact, these two will be seeing much more of each other.
November 29th, 2009: Elimination Match. This was an AMAZING match that went over an hour game-time. With the high impact that both teams used, it was a great showing throughout. Suicide Machines, albeit heels, showed a lot in this match being able to come back from a 4-on-2 defecit to make it exciting in the end. The finish where Locke got CRITICAL'D on the outside by Zhao while Carlson watched on the inside was pretty classic. The Tanner/Curtis match would get runner-up as both men bled like crazy in their streetfight that was pretty good too.
December 3rd, 2009: Mike Hooke vs. Tyrone Dukes. While the main event was probably very looked forward to, it was these two that really brought the house down. The match was very back and forth with both men getting near falls, but the fact it ended on a double count out made it all the more interesting. Neither man really tried to get back into the ring, which came across like they had just decided to beat each other senseless and not care about the count. This definitely could have the buildings of a good feud.
December 5th, 2009: Terry Tanner vs. Mike Hooke. Tanner proved to be deserving of his title shot against Cruz de Diablo next week and why he's one of the fan favorites of the promotion as he went to war with Hooke. Hooke's quickly becoming a very lower-uppercard heel, especially since he wrestles such a brutal style. This is also to set up Dukes versus Hooke down the road, regardless of any type of title situation.
December 6th, 2009: Ricky Stevens Jr. vs. Blind Dead #1. An AMAZING match between these two, and it was slightly interesting that Blind Dead #1 would put on both a good showing and an amazingly competitive singles match when he's made for tag action. Stevens got the win in the end, but this had an amazing amount of two-counts, close finishes, and reversals to keep things interesting. I might have to figure out some sort of feud for Stevens to have against both members of Blind Dead just to see if I can get the same results.
December 11th, 2009: Blind Dead & Justin Schultz vs. Rock Island Renegades & Shane Clayton. A great six-man tag match that continues both the multi-feuds in the tag team division and Clayton versus Schultz in a feud of submissions and suplexes. A very high-impactful six-man tag that saw the teams work together very well, and I got to see a great triple team corner move as Blind Dead & Schultz put some serious hurt on Austin Goff of the RIR before Schultz put him away.
December 12th, 2009: Cruz de Diablo v. Terry Tanner. This was an amazing match that saw Tanner never give up. He kicked out of the Devil's Nightmare at 2.9, scored a 2.9 of his own with a superkick, but fell victim to a second Devil's Nightmare to end the match. A very well paced, high impact match.
December 14th, 2009: Derek Dean, Ricky Stevens Jr, & Kyle Skye v. Eric Constantine & Blind Dead. Completely amazing. Near falls all over the place with the Stevens/Blind Dead feud continuing. If I had to pick it, this would be "Match of 2009" for QCCW right now. I have a feeling that a feud of these six men is definitely in the cards. Also, nice markout moment to have so many close counts after finishers.
December 17th, 2009: Rock Island Renegades v. Suicide Machines. The RIR/SM feud continues to heat up, and the RIR with this win set themselves up for a tag title shot. A very well played, well done story-line match. Probably the best feud going right now in QCCW.
December 19th, 2009: Mystery Mask v. Ian Samuels. Both matches these two have put on this week were absolutely brutal. Both men were busted open in each match, and the fact this ended in a weapon-duel countout set up brilliantly a feud. Mask is becoming this dark horse face, while Samuels still plays the insane heel. Not at all the two I expected to put on match of the night, but they delivered.
December 26th, 2009: Ian Samuels v. Mystery Mask. If the Suicide Machines/Rock Island Renegades feud defines tag team rivalry in QCCW, these guys define singles. Back and forth bloodbath with weapons and near falls. In each match these two have faced off in, both have ended up bloody. The last man standing fight should be another classic.
January 2nd, 2010: Eric Constantine v. Derek Dean. Back and forth that could have gone either way, and the finish was perfect. Dean blocked a move, his response was reversed by Constantine in order for Constantine to get the win. A good feud developing between two young talents looking to make their mark.
January 9th, 2010: Cruz de Diablo, Mystery Mask, & Rock Island Renegades v. Mike Hooke, Ian Samuels, & Suicide Machines. The three big feuds going into "Showcase of Stars I" did not disappoint in the main event. Some interesting matchups here, such as seeing Diablo going up against the Suicide Machines, along with RIR member Goff getting the pin over Samuels with a small package in the middle of an all out brawl. Perfect to set up for the big show.
January 14th, 2010: Cruz de Diablo v. Ian Samuels. I sent both these two to the A-1 Climax for different reasons and I couldn't be happier with their showings there. That boiled over into this match where they once again clashed in a hard fought match that saw Samuels come close to winning the title, but the elusive Diablo once again proved to be top of the QCCW hill for now.
January 16th, 2010: The last four matches of the show were utterly awesome. The tag title match was stiff, hard hitting, and the finish was well deserved. The cage match was high impact and exciting. The Last Man Standing was brutal as hell and a good feud ender (maybe), and the Freeweight Title match was main event calibre with 2.9's coming from each man's finisher before the ending came.
January 20th, 2010: Elimination Match. Holy high impact! A great elimination match that sets a standard. Dean v. Constantine could be a great budding feud, and Byron continues to improve.
January 23rd, 2010: Ian Samuels/Joe Curtis v. Mystery Mask/Nick Curtis. A great tag match that saw all four men bleed. These four are putting hardcore into QCCW and I think something will be done about that. Weapons match, maybe? Mask continues to impress, and he could be in line for a title shot sometime soon!
January 30th, 2010: Rock Island Renegades v. American Nightmares. For the second time, these two teams put on a great tag classic that almost went to another 30:00 draw. While the RIR won, I do see an interesting feud developing here. The American Nightmares continue to be a tag team I would wish hit their stride, but they seem to falter.
February 4th, 2010: Suicide Machines v. Tyrone Dukes & Derek Dean. A very back and forth match that saw near falls all over the place, especially in the last five minutes. Suicide Machines continue to impress and pretty soon their going to get another shot at the Warhorses. Dukes and Dean showed good teamwork together, and I think a rematch for these two teams are definitely in order.
February 6th, 2010: Cruz de Diablo v. Mike Hooke. Another great title match between these two brought another chapter to their feud, even though Diablo again continues his title reign. Hooke though continues to show that even in losing, he's a dominant style fighter, able to bring out exciting matches and also a feeling he's just out to hurt people, not necessarily win matches.
February 9th, 2010: Justin Schultz v. Tyrone Dukes. A match that had a very unexpected outcome, but was also a heck of a match up leading up to it. Dukes nearly came away with the victory, but caught the jumping knee kick to the back of the head that Schultz has used to put away quite a few opponents. I'm interested to see what a rematch between these two would look like.
February 13th, 2010: Cruz de Diablo & Takeshi Akino v. Dante DiAngelis & Mike Hooke. A chance to see Diablo and Akino on the same team instead of against each other. The storyline is that while rivals, they also respect each other and plan to try and win the IWW Tag Titles together. Dante and Hooke proved to be no slouches, and this will lead up to a Dante/Diablo match, and Hooke versus Akino was just stiff and brutal when they were in the ring together. Could make for a cool cross-promotional feud between the two.
February 18th, 2010: Ricky Stevens Jr. vs. Eric Constantine. A high impact match that both of these two seem to put on anytime they meet. Stevens getting the win over Constantine continues to push the feud, and the finishing spots were amazing. Constantine put Stevens on the top rope, Stevens reversed it into a top rope roll up, which Constantine kicked out of at 2.9. Stevens got up before Constantine and locked in the rolling camel clutch to win it.
February 20th, 2010: Warhorses vs. Rock Island Renegades. A great tag match that was a long time coming for these two teams. Renegades came close to winning the titles when Carlson hit the superkick on Terminator and got a 2.9, only because Apocalypse broke it up. Renegades definitely showed they will be title contenders while the Warhorses continued to turn back every team that they faced.
February 24th, 2010: Tony Byron v. Ricky Stevens Jr. For the second time in three shows Stevens put on the match of the night, but this time he comes up on the losing end. This was a huge back and forth match but Byron was able to lock on the Sol Naciente submission hold for the win. This is the second time Byron has used this move to finish off a match, and has become his secondary finisher it seems. Byron is climbing the ladder once again, and the argument could be made that he certainly deserves a title shot.
February 27th, 2010: Action A-2-Z & Ricky Stevens Jr. vs. 42nd Street Drifters & Ian Samuels. Again, Stevens is part of match of the show, and this was an amazing elimination match, full of drama and action. When Ace pinned Simmons to get the first elimination, it looked like his team would sweep, but Samuels came back with two huge eliminations that then swung it back that maybe Action A-2-Z and Stevens had run out. Ace's pinfall on Samuels was a bit of an upset, and the fact that he and Eastman than went another 11 minutes before the finish was classic. Ace pretty much solidifed his excellence making all the eliminations for his team.
March 1st, 2010: Blind Dead vs. El Sumodor & Cory Maxwell. A time limit draw for a match that was really probably more entertaining that what it should have been. Sumodor and Maxwell haven't been very successful in singles competition in QCCW, yet as a team they held their own and made an exciting match with the always entertaining Blind Dead. After going to a draw I suspect another match between these two teams will happen quite soon.
*Note: The Locke vs. Dean match gets a bit of a mention only because how short it was and how it ended. At a little over five minutes Dean put Locke up on the top rope for a superplex, but Locke turned it into a sunset flip off the top reveral and gets the PIN at 5:20. I figured this would go longer, so this was definitely a "whoa" moment.
March 6th, 2010: Cruz de Diablo, Takeshi Akino, El Hombre Lobo, & Jack Chambers vs. Dante DiAngelis, Mike Hooke, Madison Avenue Man, & Chase Chamberlan. The dream tag match with so many great explosions of action. Cruz and Akino double teamed the opposing team A LOT during this match, which is beginning to make me really look forward to what Punk has them go through in AJCW and also the IWW World Tag Title tournament.
March 10th, 2010: Blind Dead vs. Action A-2-Z. Another tag match of the night from Blind Dead and this was definitely high impact all the way around. Blind Dead continues to show they are a threat to just about any team. Zhao and Ace, while losing, put up both an entertaining and close match.
March 13th, 2010: American Nightmares vs. Warhorses. A match that came SO CLOSE to being a title change. Both teams battled all over the place and at one point, Speedman nailed the "Chopping Block" on Terminator on the A-N side of the ring to get a 2.9 before Apocalypse was able to break it up. The double count out sealed the fact these two are meeting in the cage. The American Nightmares were slow to get started on their winning ways, but they almost shocked QCCW here, and if it hadn't been for the count out, I would have predicted a title switch.
March 15th, 2010: Cruz de Diablo vs. Shane Clayton. A great match put on by these two which saw Clayton utilizing his various suplexes just like I hoped the edit would. Clayton suplexed the heck out of the champion, even hitting a sequence where he hit a chicken wing suplex on Diablo and then a release German immediately after to send the champ to the outside: literally suplexing him across the ring and then out of it. Diablo however continued to show why he's the champ and was able to score with the "Devil's Nightmare" to put down his tenacious opponent.
March 20th, 2010: Shane Clayton vs. Terry Tanner. A respectful match between men who have teamed together, Clayton got the win after a back and forth match. Tanner continues to impress and he always seems to be right on the brink of breaking out into another challenge to Diablo. Pretty much a match of the month candidate match between these two that never stalled with the action.
March 23rd, 2010: Suicide Machines vs. Action A-2-Z. I put these two in a Tornado Tag match to utilize both teams energy and double teams, and boy did they deliver. A nearfall came after a sandwich enziguri by Action A-2-Z, but the Machines continued to battle back. The last two minutes were finishers being hit and pins broken up until the Machines were able to come out on top.
March 27th, 2010: Cory Maxwell vs. Dante DiAngelis. A match that didn't go anywhere near expected as Maxwell picks up the win. However, this match was impactful and back and forth, with Dante pulling some perfect heel moments, such as hitting Maxwell on the outside with a low blow, rolling into the ring, and immediately doing the heelish "beg off" taunt.
March 29th, 2010: Rock Island Renegades & Nick Crosby vs. Nate & Drake Leonard & Ian Samuels. A great six-man tag match between two tag teams and two on-and-off rivals. Crosby continues to surprise me as he's on a winning tear against Samuels, Mike Hooke, and Charlie Potter. This was high impact from the opening bell with both teams working really well together, and Crosby getting another pin over Samuels continues to build his cause for a title shot.
April 3rd, 2010: Warhorses vs. Paul Kenney & Ricky Stevens Jr. A match that was amazing and pure tag team gold. The champs came so close to retaining their titles, especially in the latter part of the match, but Stevens, playing the "face in peril" continued to kick out. Stevens kicked out of a running powerslam from Apocalypse at just over the 26 minute mark and then was able to hit a suprise "Stevens Special", allowing him to make the tag into Kenney while Terminator came in. Terminator and Kenney brawled until the time limit ran out, and this became both "instant classic" and "rematch needed" as soon as it ended.
A note about the Diablo vs. Constantine match.
April 8th, 2010: Starship & Storm Warning vs. Joe Curtis & 42nd Street Drifters. A huge contrast of styles, high flyers vs. brawlers, but an entertaining match that nearly went the time limit. Storm Warning worked really well against Starship, and Starship is becoming my "freelance tester" to see who he puts on good matches with.
April 10th, 2010: Cruz de Diablo, Mystery Mask, & Takeshi Akino v. Mike Hooke, Eric Constantine, & Ian Samuels. A great match with a lot of rivalries in it, was a perfect setup leading into the big quarterly special. The fact it went to double count out also helped lead into it as well, but there were some fantastic moments. Hooke v. Akino is always fun, and Mask and Ian got bloody again (keeping their streat alive). Diablo continued to impress, completely dominating Constantine much like in their solo encounter.
April 13th, 2010: American Nightmares v. Action A-2-Z. A great tag encounter between these two which proved again that the Nightmares could be quite underrated in the division. High impact from Ace and Zhao, but the technical and strength positives by the Nightmares sealed this match.
April 17th, 2010: Cruz de Diablo v. Mystery Mask. An over thirty minute match of the year CLASSIC saw both men kick out of their opponent's finishers TWICE, and neither man give in. Markout moments came from both men, both inside and outside of the ring, and Mask being able to block a superplex and then hit the "Mysterious Ending" to give Cruz his first pinfall loss in QCCW and to give the Freeweight Title a new home. An amazing match that is probably the QCCW Match of the Year so far (from first show till now).
April 23rd, 2010: Cruz de Diablo & El Hombre Lobo v. Blind Dead. While the Mask v. Samuels fight was another bloodbath, this was a showdown that was a great one. Seeing they're all based on horror films from Spain, this is billed as the "Spanish Horror Showdown" series. Diablo and Lobo worked perfectly as a team, but Blind Dead refused to go down easily. A great first match between these teams, and a feeling more will be coming.
April 24th, 2010: Cruz de Diablo & El Hombre Lobo v. Blind Dead. Another great tag showdown, this was close to an upset when Blind Dead #1 got a 2.9 on Diablo with the "Gallow's Calling." Diablo & Lobo make a good team together, and could possibly make for an interesting challenging team for the Warhorses.
April 28th, 2010: Brian Feare v. Austin Goff. A great singles showdown between two tag team specialists, this could bring about another American Nightmares/Rock Island Renegades series. The Nightmares seem to be building momentum, the question is if they can use it to their advantage.
May 1st, 2010: Terry Tanner v. Dante DiAngelis. A really high impact and competitive match between these two, and neither wanted to let the other one get the pin, as each man kicked out of the other's finisher once before the ending came.
May 2nd, 2010: 42nd Street Drifters v. Rock Island Renegades. Another showdown between these two which yielded another surprising result, as the brawlers take down the homegrown favorites. Each time these two teams meet, their matches are both entertaining and surprising.
May 8th, 2010: Derek Dean v. Ian Samuels. A back and forth fight which saw Samuels level Dean with the "Insanity Defense", only for the young man to kick out at 2.9. Dean then battled back and scored with his finisher to get the win and give him another big upset he's been able to gain up to this point.
May 11th, 2010: Ricky Stevens Jr. vs. Mystery Mask. Where do I begin? These two went back and forth and Mask was pulling out all the stops, but the ending was a thing of beauty. Mask whips Stevens into the ropes, goes for a clothesline, ducked by Stevens. Stevens then continues to run the ropes, nails the "Stevens Special" and hooks the leg for the pin and the surprise win for the Freeweight Title. Stevens has been one of those "dark horse" guys, in singles action he has a really good record that keeps begging for a title shot, and when he gets his chance, he capitalized big time.
May 15th, 2010: Ricky Stevens Jr. vs. Mystery Mask. Where their first match ended, this seemed to pick up with speed. Again these two were evenly matched and Mask shocked the crowd when he hit the "Mysterious Ending" about twelve minutes into the match, but he was shocked in turn that Stevens was able to kick out. The fight went to the outside which seemed to favor Stevens, and when they both got back in the match really became a battle of 2.9's. Mask kicked out of a "Stevens Special" at about twenty minutes in, but fell victim to a second one to lose his rematch.
May 21st, 2010: Cruz de Diablo & El Hombre Lobo vs. Suicide Machines. while I have enjoyed immensely the Suicide Machines vs. Rock Island Renegades feud, this match was on par with the best that those two teams had gone through. Diablo and Lobo showed great teamwork, as did the Machines, but in the end Diablo and Lobo were able to win this one. A great spot was during the end when an all out brawl erupted. A great series of moves occurred that saw Simms hit Lobo with the "Suicidal Tendencies" at the same time Diablo hit Locke with a "Devil's Nightmare" off the top rope. However, Simms and Diablo were the legal men, so the autopins broke up and then Diablo catches Simms with the "Devil's Nightmare to win it. Awesome spot.
May 22nd, 2010: Cruz de Diablo & El Hombre Lobo vs. Warhorses. Finally, the Warhorses are beaten in a tag match in a QCCW ring, and it solidifies QCCW history as Diablo becomes the first wrestler to have held the Freeweight Title and Tag Title. This was a battle of overwhelming power against speed and resilience that if I could have taped, I would have. Lobo and Diablo each were on the receiving end of powerslams, the Warhorses ate "Wolf Moon's" and "Devil's Nightmare's", but their partners were always there to break it up. Lobo wins the match for his team, and an amazing tag run comes to an end.
May 25th, 2010: Mystery Mask v. Golden Superstar. A back and forth match that proved that while Superstar may not win a lot of matches at times, he is ALWAYS tough. He got three 2.9's on the former Freeweight Champ in the last two minutes of the match before getting caught. I could see a good feud between these two developing.
May 29th, 2010: Blind Dead v. Cory Maxwell & Derek Dean
A great tag team match when I thought it would be more of a squash, Maxwell continues to show being a competitive underdog is a good place for him. It almost looked like Maxwell and Dean would pull it off when he hit a nice reverse tornado DDT out of the corner, but the Blind Dead proved to be just a little tougher.
May 30th, 2010: Zijum Zhao, Starship, Shane Clayton, & Tyrone Dukes v. Johnny Lash, Lenny Ace, Tony Byron, & Brendan Quinn. A good eight man tag with a lot of different styles, this was to continue the Zhao versus Ace/Lash feud that's been kicking off lately. Good to see Zhao's team win it, and it definitely sets up an interesting dynamic for an elimination match later down the road.
June 5th, 2010: Warhorses v. Suicide Machines. A good tag battle between these two teams ended in a double countout, and it was the fight on the outside that really brought out a great fight. Simms hit a flying dive on the outside on Terminator, causing both partners to come off the apron. Apocalypse hit a powerslam on Simms, getting a CRITICAL. Seconds later, Locke hit Terminator with the "Suicidal Tendencies" to keep Terminator outside for the double count out.
June 8th, 2010: Randy Stout v. Fujuki Saito v. Brenad Quinn v. Franklin Dent v. Goblin Mask v. Victor Marterson. An eight man match to set up the last entrant in the TV Title tournament was all over the place, and Saito and Stout were busted open early into the match and really seemed to key in on each other the entire time. Stout getting the win with the DVD over Saito to secure the spot was a nice ending, but the fact there seemed to be a feud in the making was even better.
June 12th, 2010: Starship v. Justin Schultz. The finale of the TV Title tourney saw face favorite Starship take on the man who has been kicking people out of QCCW, and it was a good back and forth fight. Schultz seemed to target the leg of Starship through the match, trying to keep Starship from going up top. Toward the end of the match, Schultz went for what might have been his Arched German, but Starship hit a kick to get out of it, then went up top to hit the "Starcrash Landing" for the win and the new title.
June 14th, 2010: El Hombre Lobo & Cruz de Diablo v. Mike Hooke & Ian Samuels. A bloody, hard hitting fight that saw the champs retain, but not before Lobo got nailed with the "Three on a Meathook" that nearly ended the match if it wasn't for Diablo's timed interference. Diablo then was able to mount offense for his team, catching Samuels with a chokeslam, then hitting Hooke with the "Devil's Nightmare" for the pin.
June 19th, 2010: Cruz de Diablo & El Hombre Lobo v. 42nd Street Drifters. Another good tag match for the champs and this one was an all out brawl between the Grindhouse duo of Simmons and Eastman and the Spanish Horror influenced champions. This has been a really good mini-feud and the matches never cease to be entertaining, especially since weapons get brought in by the Drifters.
June 21st, 2010: Lenny Ace v. Zijum Zhao v. Justin Schultz. The triangle match to crown a number one contender to Starship was really entertaining, and Zhao, who hasn't won a match on his own in his career, came really close to shocking everyone in this match. He was able to put away Schultz in a series of reversals that ended up with him hitting the "Zensational" for the pin in a shock, but Ace then caught him immediately with the "Action Ace" to get the shot.
June 26th, 2010: Starship v. Lenny Ace. A time limit draw that nearly saw Ace capture the title when he hit his hurricane driver, but Starship kicked out at 2.9 at 14:20 to keep the match alive. Amazingly though, it was Starship who had the pin on Ace when the time limit ran out. An automatic rematch was signed in what could be another high impact fight.
July 1st, 2010: Eric Constantine, Johnny Lash, & Lenny Ace v. Zijum Zhao, Derek Dean, & Cory Maxwell. A great six-man tag that saw Lash and Ace, a newly forming tag team and their cocky teammate Constantine come away with a win over a really talented team in Zhao, Maxwell, and Dean. While the faces seemed to be a longshot, they all kept in the thing with Dean really being a workhorse, staying in the ring for a ten minute stretch where he got 2.9's on Lash and Ace. A good match that could see a rematch on another house show.
July 3rd, 2010: Warhorses vs. Blind Dead. A great tag match between the two saw the Blind Dead come real close to pulling off a win here, but each time a Warhorse would break it up. The Blind Dead continue to be one of those teams that surprise me because of the great showings they put up against teams that are superior to them. I have a feeling they could be real surprising later on down the road. Because of the showings of both teams, I made what was going to be a regular tag title defense by the champions into a three-way war.
July 4th, 2010: There were a couple great matches on this card. First off was the elimination match, or what it really was: Maxwell and Schultz showcase. No one made eliminations but these two, and Schultz came back from a three-to-one deficit to pull off the come-from behind win. Because of Cory Maxwell pinning Lenny Ace, the underdog gets first shot at Ace's TV title. However, Schultz proved himself to be just about as close to dominating as he can be, and while his recent singles loss to Zhao might put him a step back, this win here really helped him up the rankings. The second match of the night was the three-way tag war that was just flat out amazing. Warhorses brought strength and stiff moves that were just taking guys down, the Blind Dead brought in the X-Factor of just being able to surprise anyone, and the champs brought sheer determination.
July 10th, 2010: Cruz de Diablo & El Hombre Lobo vs. Suicide Machines. A great match up between these teams, all four men had great fluid chemistry with each other. Machines continued to show why they are such a great team, but the champs still showed the determination to hold onto their belts. Finish was amazing as after all the high impact, Diablo needed to hit the "Devil's Nightmare" off the top rope to put away Simms for the win.
July 15th, 2010: Da Bargain Hunta vs. Randy Stout. A stiff match between the Rebel and the Hunta. A chair was introduced by Hunta early and both men used it, taking advantage of the QCCW rule that as long as you're not holding a weapon for a five count, it's all legal. Hunta used a fork to bust open Stout but Stout fought back. Definitely worth a rematch as these two had a good all-out brawl.
July 17th, 2010: Tony Byron v. Starship v. Derek Dean v. Dante DiAngelis. A huge four way match that was a great blending of these four wrestlers. Any of these four are title contenders, and the win by Byron really catapults him into a shot for the TV Title. Dean continues to show he's a great "student" style wrestler who has a lot of talent.
July 20th, 2010: Terry Tanner v. Shane Clayton v. Cruz de Diablo v. Mystery Mask. EPIC match between these four as two former Freeweight Champs and two high level talents all faced off. Clayton showed being a suplex master comes in handy, as he hit a beautiful release suplex that made Mask stand up groggy, right into the superkick. Cruz did some great action but fell to Tanner who might just be able to wrestle the Freeweight Title from Lash.
July 24th, 2010: Mystery Mask & Ricky Stevens Jr. v. Ian Samuels and Mike Hooke. A brutal match that saw all four men busted open, and the fact it went to a double count out was perfect in the two feuds budding here: Mask vs. Hooke and Samuels v. Stevens. This could definitely be a dark horse tag feud that ends in blood.
July 31st, 2010: Terry Tanner v. Johnny Lash. The Freeweight Title match proves still that the belt is always the top prize fought for. Lash's title reign comes to a surprising, in my opinion, short ending as perennial fan favorite and always a contender Tanner pulls off the win. It was a great back and forth move and Tanner was able to hit the "Guitar Solo Encore" in a nice markout moment that led to the win.
August 7th, 2010: The Aswang v. Nathan Lock. A back and forth match that really saw both men hit great moves, but the other was just too determined to go down. Their second time limit draw in as many matches, it really led to the fact they need an No Time Limit match to see how far they can go, and look for a clean win.
August 9th, 2010: American Nightmares v. Blind Dead. The second tag match on the show also led to the second time limit draw between tag teams. While the Rock Island Renegade/42nd Street Drifters match was decent, this one was amazing. Blind Dead utilized quick tags for the first twelve minutes to really capitalize on Speedman, but when Feare came in he really put the boots to both members of Blind Dead. Feare locked on the "Fear Cage" at 29:57, but BD #1 was able to hold out in time for the bell to ring signaling the draw.
August 14th, 2010: Justin Schultz v. Starship. A back and forth fight saw Schultz utilize submissions and technique against Starship who leapt all over the place. A cool sequence saw Starship hit a frankenstein whip, and when Justin Schultz got up dazed, he hit a springboard hurricanrana for a two. Moments later, he hit a swing frankensteiner off the top rope, and when he lifted Schultz up, Schultz surprised him with the Falcon Arrow to win it.
August 17th, 2010: Johnny Lash & Lenny Ace v. Rock Island Renegades. A classic tag team encounter with a lot of counters and quick tags. The former singles champions in Lash and Ace were able to get upper-hands when it was one-on-one, but when all four men were in the ring, the RIR were able to get the best of them. Interestingly enough, the end came when Ace was able to sneak in and his his finisher on Carlson, allowing Lash to get the pinfall.
August 19th, 2010: El Hombre Lobo v. Manticore and Cruz de Diablo v. El Blanco. Two matches with great talents that went to time-limit draws. Definitely a duo of matches that deserve not only one rematch, but could make for an awesome series of showdowns. Lobo and Manticore saw a lot of high flying moves, while Cruz and Blanco just seemed to be really evenly matched in impact.
August 21st, 2010: Elliot Landen v. Justin Schultz. A back and forth, technical matchup. Schultz continued to use submissions and suplexes while Landen really went after Schultz's leg, utilizing the "Energy Flux" to get the win. Definitely an exciting match that really saw Landen work as a great technical wrestler, while Schultz continues to show that he is always a threat.
August 23rd, 2010: Mike Hooke, Tony Byron, & Blind Dead v. Tyrone Dukes, Starship, & Bad Attitude. A fantastic elimination match that saw each team go on a great run with some eliminations that really help along storylines. The critical on Graham set up for a fun storyline in terms of the Blind Dead v. Bad Attitude feud, and Starship looked like he might have been able to fight off both members of Blind Dead until he got caught after a reversal.
August 28th, 2010: Hell's Wolves v. Johnny Lash & Lenny Ace. This steel cage match was brutal right from the get-go as the heels continued to throw Lobo into the cage. Diablo hit a fantastic "Devil's Nightmare" at about the 11-minute mark on Ace but it was broken up just in time by Lash. Both teams really showed they wanted this, but in the end the champions were able to retain when Lobo isolated Lash and Diablo hit Ace with a second "Devil's Nightmare" for the win.
September 2nd, 2010: Suicide Machines v. Rock Island Renegades. Another fine chapter in the tag feud between the two teams really saw fast-tags and fast action. The Suicide Machines hit a beautiful "doomsday device" move, but Simms hit a dropkick instead of a clothesline on Goff, which quickly led to Locke hitting the "Suicidal Tendencies" for the win.
September 4th, 2010: Suicide Machines & Brendan Quinn v. Cory Maxwell & Rock Island Renegades. Another chance for the SM and RIR to shine, but this time they were really strengthened with great tag partners. Maxwell showed a lot of heart, getting a 2.9 when he hit Simms with a reverse tornado DDT out of the corner, and then later got another 2.9 with his flash roll-up on Quinn. However, the Suicide Machines were able to isolate Carlson late in the match, allowing Locke to pin him.
September 9th, 2010: Brendan Quinn & Suicide Machines v. Cory Maxwell & Rock Island Renegades
<>The feud between these six men continued with another great match as they battled it out in an elimination match. Quinn and Maxwell really put on a great match from about ten minutes in until Quinn eliminated Maxwell. The RIR weren't able to do much better when Carlson got eliminated, but Goff did nail Quinn with a superkick to eliminate him. In the end though, the numbers game was too much for him and he fell to the Suicide Machines.
September 11th, 2010: Hell's Wolves v. 42nd Street Drifters v. Blind Dead. The champions second triangle match-style title defense saw them once again victorious over two of their most heated rivals. The Drifters were systematically taken apart by both the Blind Dead and Wolves, even though they were swinging steel chairs most of the match. The Blind Dead and Hell's Wolves than put on a great tag encounter for a few minutes until near-simulataneous pins allowed the champs to retain.
September 15th, 2010: Hell's Wolves v. Blind Dead / Elliot Landen v. Terry Tanner v. Lenny Ace. A tie for matches of the night. The triangle match showcased different styles but a lot of energy, as Tanner and Ace showed why they are former title holders and Landen showed he has a lot to offer QCCW. Ace got caught off-guard by the "Guitar Solo Encore" to find himself eliminated, and then Elliot was able to hit a beautiful series of moves to get the win in the end. Meanwhile on the tag front, the Wolves and Blind Dead put on another amazing Tag Title match. Blind Dead nearly got the win before Cruz de Diablo could break up the cover late in the match, and this match is the reason the two will meet in a 3 Fall encounter.
September 18th, 2010: Mike Hooke v. Tony Byron. While the 30:00 minute draw between the 42nd Street Drifters and American Nightmares was a weapon-filled brawl, this was an amazing showcase of talent. Hooke is pretty much a brawling powerhouse, while Byron has shown to be technically superior, and it was a great blend of contrast. Byron went for the "Byron Driver X5" but it was reversed, and after a stiff clothesline Hooke put him away to send QCCW's "best kept secret" back to the locker room.
September 20th, 2010: Cory Maxwell v. Momiji. While Cruz de Diablo and The Aswang put on a classic match up, this had high drama as the first match of the card. Momiji is the former champion of the Japanese federation Fighting Spirit Pro (where El Hombre Lobo worked before coming to QCCW), and was known for his violent nature. Momiji lacerated Maxwell repeatedly using his scythe and fork, causing Maxwell to bleed within the first three minutes of the match. Maxwell continued to fight back though, even getting a VERY CLOSE 2.9 with his reverse tornado DDT. However in the end, the blood loss was his undoing. However after the match, the QCCW faithful and members of the roster came out to show their respect for this underdog hero.
September 25th, 2010: Hell's Wolves v. Blind Dead. Probably the greatest tag team contest I've ever seen on Fire Pro. These two teams have put on amazing matches each time, but this time the 2/3 falls really was amazing. While normally I see 2nd and 3rd falls end quickly, these just kept going. The BD really double-teamed Lobo in the first fall which caused the champs to lose the first fall, but then they fired back in the last two to keep their titles. If I could have streamed this, I would have because this was just full of 2.9's and close calls.
September 30th, 2010: British Invasion v. Shane Clayton. These two put on a technical clinic that saw Invasion battle a top title contender tooth-and-nail. Invasion was able to lock on his "London Lock" toward the end of the match, but Clayton was able to hold on till the time limit expired. Both men matched each other quite well.
October 2nd, 2010 Drake & Nate Leonard v. Rock Island Renegades. A tag feud I've enjoyed comes to an end as this was Drake Leonard's retirement match. Back and forth match that really was a clash of styles, and it was nice to see Drake win his retirement match with his signature move. Rock Island Renegades continue to sim well, and I'll have to renew their rivalry with the Suicide Machines soon because I've always enjoyed those. Nate Leonard now branches out into solo matches, and he definitely has the skills to go far.
October 7th, 2010: Cruz de Diablo v. Manticore. A great, back and forth match that saw Manticore almost pull up an upset. Diablo really seemed to battle back during the middle part of the match as Manticore went on an offensive tear. In the end though, the former Freeweight Champion and perennial fan favorite was able to hit his "Devil's Nightmare" to put Manticore away.
October 9th, 2010: Tyrone Dukes v. British Invasion. A great, technical showdown between these two sees both men refuse to give into their opponent. Dukes nailed the "Cybernetic Shutdown" at about 18 minutes in, but B.I. was able to kick out at 2.9. British than followed that up locking in the London Lock, but too close to the time limit. Time limit ran up before B.I. could get the submission.
October 14th, 2010: American Nightmares & Rock Island Renegades v. Blind Dead & 42nd Street Drifters. An elimination match that sees uneasy allies in BD and 42nd Street team up, but man if this wasn't exciting. The first elimination occured just under 62 minutes into the match, but then the elims came fast and furious. This match ended at 70:24 and was the longest simulated match I've ever had. Just an amazing match.
October 16th, 2010: Tyrone Dukes v. British Invasion. A second time limit draw between the two proves they could be the most evenly matched wrestlers in QCCW right now. While their last encounter ended with Dukes trapped in the "London Lock" when time ran out, this match ended after Dukes hit the "Cybernetic Shutdown" but was only able to get a one count before the bell rang for a time limit draw.
October 20th, 2010: Blind Dead v. Rock Island Renegades. For pure drama, this match had it. As BD #1 get's KO'ed by a superkick by Carlson on the outside while not being legal, it was up to BD #2 to fight for his team. And only minutes later, he hits the "Gallows Calling" on Carlson to CRITICAL him and take the win. I marked out HUGE for that moment.
October 23rd, 2010: Eric Brady v. Dante DiAngelis v. Shane Clayton. So many great matches on this card, such as the Tag Title match, the RIR vs. Suicide Machines, and Mystery Mask vs. Ricky Stevens, but the Freeweight Title wins out here. Brady came dangerously close to losing the title after getting caught with the "Cool Off" but was able to fight back and get through this match with his title reign intact.
October 28th, 2010: Johnny Lash v. Ricky Stevens Jr. A great back and forth fight between the two former Freeweight Champs, and Lash seems to be feeling a bit of momentum after beating Lenny Ace and sending him from QCCW. Lash works well as a solo-worker and this win over Stevens helps propel him into contention for the Freeweight Title again.
October 30th, 2010: British Invasion v. Tyrone Dukes. After three straight time limit draw, a no-time-limit match was signed and again these two went at it tooth and nail. However, as Dukes got locked into the "London Lock", he knew he couldn't hold out until the bell would ring, and while trapped in the middle of the ring, he had no choice but to tap out.
October 31st, 2010: Mr. Dynamic, Elliot Landen, & Scott Jackson v. Fujuki Saito, Justin Schultz, & Tony Byron. With some different styles clashing all through the match, this was an exciting six-man tag. Jackson continued to show why he deserves a spot on the roster, and Saito was surpising with a few near falls on Landen. Schultz and Byron used a few double teams which continued to show them as a promising heel tag team, but in the end the faces get the win.
November 6th, 2010: Hell's Wolves v. Tony Byron & Justin Schultz. Schultz and Byron made for a great team that really challenged the champions. Schultz really worked over Lobo, looking for a submission but couldn't quite get it, and in the later minutes of the match, the champions were able to regroup and defeat Byron and Schultz, keeping their title reign in check. While they weren't able to come up with the win, Byron and Schultz proved that they could be a very good team together.
November 7th, 2010: Suicide Machines v. Rock Island Renegades. I wanted to make a big show for the one-year anniversary of QCCW, and this match delivered. With their best of three falls going into a tie, I had to sign sudden death and the Machines proved to be the better team on this night after 4 falls and a total time of over 70 minutes. What made it more dramatic was the double turn afterward, as the Suicide Machines shook hands with their rivals and promised to make QCCW proud in IWW competition, the Rock Island Renegades brutally attacked them, turning their backs on the fans.
November 13th, 2010: British Invasion v. Ricky Stevens Jr. A great back and forth match between two guys who really seemed to mesh well. Stevens looked like he was going to get the win with the "Steven's Special" but Invasion kicked out at 2.9, and then was able to get a roll up on Stevens for the win. A better match than I thought it was going to be, this continued to show how Stevens really is a great edit to pull matches out of opponents.
November 14th, 2010: The Swarm v. Top Dollar. The Swarm's first match in against a trio I put together from Madison Avenue Man and some ICWA alumni, this was a high impact, perfect six-man tag match. Lots of teams running interference, tons of quick tags, and the Swam continued to dive out of the ring on their opponents. Good to see the Swarm when their debut, and the team of Madison Avenue Man, Dane Fortune, and Doug Hart made a great heel team who loved to double and triple team in their corner.
November 20th, 2010: Hell's Wolves v. Rock Island Renegades. A great tag match that created a storyline, the RIR came VERY close to winning the titles when Goff hit a superkick on Diablo, but Lobo was able to break it up in time. Double team moves from both teams really set a fast pace for the match, and it was good to see the Hell's Wolves establish a new tag team record.
November 22nd, 2010: El Hombre Lobo v. Manticore. I set out for these two to feud right off the bat, but with Lobo as part of the tag champs, Manticore had found himself fighting everyone else, but this was a perfect match between the two. Both men were looking for blood and Manticore busted Lobo open about ten minutes in. The ending came after a series of counters and high impact moves when Manticore went for the "Flesh Tear" but Lobo reversed it, hitting the "Wolf's Moon" in the process to get the win.
November 26th, 2010: El Hombre Lobo & The Swarm v. 42nd Street Drifters, Fujuki Saito, & Manticore AND Cruz de Diablo & Suicide Machines v. Evan Anderson & Rock Island Renegades. These two tag matches both were just amazing and full of markout moments. Lobo and Swarm do amazing stuff, including a triple move by the Swarm on Saito, only for Lobo to follow it up with a top rope move. Meanwhile, the Machines and Cruz just played faces to a "T" with Locke playing the part of "face in peril" before getting a hot tag to Diablo who came in and cleared house.
November 27th, 2010: Cruz de Diablo v. Mystery Mask. While their first match was one of the top five matches in QCCW (and one of the best singles matches I'd ever seen simmed), I wasn't sure if this would live up to those expectations. While it didn't, it came pretty darn close as both men kicked out of each other's finishers before Diablo could finally put Mask away and defeat the man who ended his first Freeweight Title reign.
November 30th, 2010: The Swarm v. British Invasion, Justin Schultz, & Tony Byron. A great six-man tag that saw the technical heel team keep up with the fast-paced insects. Invasion was able to lock Feugo into the "London Lock" but Evol broke it up before a tap out, and then all six men ended up trading shots in the ring, creating awesome mayhem. A nice, fast paced contest.
December 4th, 2010: 4-Way Tag Title Tournament Final. Lots of storylines came to a head in this match, like the RIR causing the Machines the titles, the Insects' injuries from the Warhorses catching up with them, and then Samuels and Critical Condition capturing the titles and bringing a lot of the gold to their stable with Mike Hooke. I was surprised at how quick the Insects went down, but it worked out for the storyline, having been beaten down by the Warhorses. A great, hectic match that ended a fun tournament.
December 9th, 2010: Insectico Evol v. Blind Dead #2. While other matches went longer and had more "higher profile" talent, these two put on a fun, entertaining match between them. While known more for their tag or trio work, these two really gelled together in a singles contest that saw counters and moves to the outside and a close-to double count out. Evol picked up the win in a match that, like I said, was just fun.
December 11th, 2010: Mike Hooke v. El Hombre Lobo. A match that QCCW had been waiting for, Hooke and Lobo went right at it from the get-go and it was no surprise Hooke busted Lobo open early. However, the challenger refused to go down, busting open Hooke when he bit him a few times. Hooke nearly had the win with a hard spear, but Lobo was able to fight back, nearly getting the pin himself with a "Dragon's Ray" from the corner. However, after both men had been down on the mat from exhaustion, the bell rang, signaling the time limit expiring and forcing a rematch between the two.
December 16th, 2010: Elliot Landen, Mr. Dynamic, & Shane Clayton v. Dante DiAngelis & Rock Island Renegades. A fun match up, Landen and the RIR really had a fun back and forth as Landen sweepkicked both RIR when they were in the ring trying to interfere. Dynamic showed his namesake by going to the top a few times, and Dante and Clayton continued their feud as they brawled on the outside. While at first it seemed like a mash-up of a tag match, all six men performed well in an exciting match.
