So QCCW has grown to be a bit bigger than I ever thought, haha, and I'm beginning to think of whether or not it would be practical to create a second singles title, since I have so many singles wrestlers and one title.
The original plan was to keep QCCW in a way where there weren't four or five titles bogging things down, but I've noticed that in terms of the Freeweight title, things can happen hard and fast and wrestlers who get great streaks just happen into title contention, so here's where I would like some input from the IWW.
Would it be a good idea to create a second singles title, a more "midcard" title (though not necessarily called that), like a TV Title. The title would be defended on each "QC Clash" show and would be fought under a 15:00 time limit.
I figure in terms of the Freeweight and Tag Titles, those are to be defended at least twice a month by their champions, and I haven't had a problem with that, but this would give guys who don't necessarily crest to the top of the heap (Shane Clayton, Tony Byron, Tyrone Dukes, etc) and have pretty even Win-Loss records to still be able to achieve something of note. Also, it could build into angles/feuds (What if Golden Superstar wins the TV title and only is able to keep it by time limit draws, etc.)
Anyway, ANY sort of feedback would be great.

A TV Title would be a good idea, you could let anyone win it, a TV Title rises and falls depending on it's champ.

I like having at least two singles titles. The main belt that everyone strives for and the "mid card" one that helps to build stars and feuds.

Thanks guys. It seems like it would definitely be a good idea, as I've just realized my roster is currently at 41 guys (14 singles faces, 13 singles heels, and then four face teams and four heel teams). I have a scramble match coming up on a house show with some of the new singles edits I've done, and the winner of that will be put into the running for the TV Title (it'll also help me finalize in the new save for QCCW who's going freelance and who will be QCCW).
Couple last bit questions going into this. Should I do this as an 8-man battle royal or do a one-night, eight man tournament on "Clash" to crown the champion? Also, is a 15:00 time limit good, or should I bump it up to 20:00? I usually see singles matches go between 9 - 14 minutes on average, so that's why I'm aiming at 15:00, since that seems to be the more "classic TV time limit." Everything else in terms of matches I have at a 30:00 time limit, if that makes a difference. I figure once I have a specific "TV Title Time Limit" I'll be changing the other time limits to reflect such a change (dropping non-tag or non-title matches down to 20:00 instead of 30:00).
Anywho, once again, any input would be great.

Tournaments are my favorite way of crowning new champions. I like to see who worked well against each other and what happens in the matches to see if potential feuds can be had.

Do the tournament. In my opinion its the better way to crown a champion.

Alright then, thanks all. I actually went through my spreadsheet I keep of wins/losses and I've been able to settle on seven of the eight in the tournament that way. With one spot going to the winner of a scramble match, the TV Title is set for the June 12th "QC Clash".
(I know, QCCW is in June... I'm months ahead, lol. This is what happens when I'm off on Fridays and have Monday and Wednesday mornings for 2 hours to hang out before work and Sim matches.)
Currently, the tournament will host: 1. Dante DiAngelis 2. Tony Byron 3. Tyrone Dukes 4. Terry Tanner 5. Starship 6. Eric Constantine 7. Justin Schultz 8. Winner of an 8-Man Scramble on the June 8th house show.
I am on purposely keeping former Freeweight Title holders off the tournament, such as Cruz and Mystery Mask, due to the fact I feel this title is being initiated firstly to give those who have respectable records a chance to shine. Not saying we won't see Cruz try for it, or Mask win it, etc... but for right now, I'm keeping it to guys who have win-loss records that are either pretty much even or haven't won the big title. I do notice that there are some guys on my roster who have great singles records and I didn't really notice, lol. For instance: Dukes, Dante, Byron, all seem to have win-records that are pretty much 50/50 in wins and losses, while Terry Tanner and Starship win more than they lose, but haven't quite grabbed the Freeweight Belt. This could give anyone of the seven picked a chance at shining.
More than likely, all this will be decided by Friday afternoon and then posted, along with hopefully the new QCCW save.
